My Microteaching Session
I had microteaching session last week. I taught the class how to prepare Japanese Chicken Curry Don. I had learnt a lot from this session and I would like to share with you my learning experience and some pointers so that you will not make the same mistakes I made.

A good and detailed lesson plan is very essential. The lesson plan should consists of dialogues between you and your students such that you will be able to deliver a good command of English when you are conducting your lesson. This allows you to plan beforehand how you should phrase what you want to bring across to your students. More anticipated responses of your students should be included as well. By doing so, you will not be caught off guard in any difficult situation as you had already anticipated it. Most importantly, you should manage your time very well and this include the time taken for demonstrations.
When you are conducting a practical class, you should be able to multi task well. You should always keep a look out on your students even when you are giving demonstration. Being aware of their behaviour/ progress is very important.
I also strongly recommend you to read up a lot so that you will have a very strong foundation of theory. This is very useful when you have some 'filler time'. You can incoporate theory behind food sciences and nutrition in your practical lesson. This will enhance learning in students and able to make the practical session more interesting.
Good luck for your upcoming microteaching session and I hope that what I had just shared are benefical to you! (:
